Surrey Association for Visual Impairment. Making a visible difference in Surrey.
14th May 2008 - a very successful Gala Night was held at The Nomad Theatre in East Horsley. the production was 'Viva La Costa' by Pip Burley (famous for writing the Darling Buds of May and A Touch of Frost) and was the first time this play had been performed. His wife Chris provided the audio commentary for our visually impaired guests. Before the play, drinks and tasty tapas were provided and we were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine that evening, so we could enjoy our refreshments outside.
“Thank you so much for your hospitality yesterday,
I thoroughly enjoyed the play.”
Jennifer Jordan, Mayor of Guildford
“Hi Lance, Just to say how much we both enjoyed the evening. Thanks to the staff who looked after us so well. The lovely messages from staff and Trustees will be such a great reminder of all the people I have worked with at SAVI. The flowers smell really lovely.”
Gail Guest
“What a wonderful occasion it was, the weather was kind, the company was delightful, and the performance was entertaining.”
Jean Pearson, Chairman of Mole Valley District Council
Following the success of last year's event, Joan and Anthony Barnett opened their beautiful garden to the public, along with quite a few of their neighbours, to help raise funds for SAVI on Sunday 13th July. The day was very well attended with over 140 visitors and raised a very impressive £1015 for SAVI.
