Jo Branton and Niamh Harmsworth from ispy opticians in Godalming, bravely did a tandem sky dive and raised over £1,000 for Savi. See pictures below.
Jo has always wanted to sky dive and managed to persuade Niamh to join her! They said it was the most amazing experience ever and wished to thank all the team at Gloucester barracks who helped them with the jump and put them both completely at ease. They both can’t wait to do it again!
ispy opticians is an independent optical boutique in the heart of Godalming.

Mem
bers at the prestigious Wentworth Club have raised more than £41,000 in aid of SAVI.
The money was raised over the course (excuse the pun) of 2010 at events such as the annual Captain’s Charity Golf Day and Captains Barbeque but was also supported by other sections of the club such as the Bridge section who raised over £1,000 at one of their events to help the cause.
Andrew Cox, Wentworth’s Club Captain in 2010, chose SAVI as his charity of the year in part because a close family member has a visual impairment.
He said: “I have been very impressed with the range of services provided by SAVI to help make the lives of visually impaired people throughout the county so much better.”
SAVI Chief Executive, Lance Clarke, said: “We cannot thank Andrew and his partner Christine enough; they have put in a huge amount of work throughout the year and raised a fantastic amount of money as well as helping to raise awareness of our charity. We can assure them that it will be put to very good use. I would also like to thank all the Wentworth members for helping us to make a visible difference in Surrey.”
The picture above shows Wentworth captain Andrew Cox presenting the cheque to SAVI Chief Executive Lance Clark with SAVI trustee Caroline Spencer and SAVI Head of Fundraising Martin Andrews looking on.
