Surrey Association for Visual Impairment. Making a visible difference in Surrey.

Surrey Association for Visual Impairment is here to help anyone in Surrey, whose eyesight has become a cause for concern, whether they are registered as having a visual impairment or not. SAVI also has a department devoted to providing support to people who have a combined sight and hearing loss (CSHL).
Many of our services are provided free of charge. There will be a charge for some items and equipment from the Resource Centre, but for expensive items with people on low income, there may be opportunities for loans or grants.
If people need guidance with benefits claims related to their sight loss we can provide some support.
Any person resident in the administrative county of Surrey can make use of our services and anyone can contact SAVI for support.

With our inclusive society, we Service Providers want to ensure that all of our customers, clients and service users get the support they need and not to come across barriers, whether it is information, environmental or poor customer service. This not only may break the Disablity Discrimination Act 1995, but may mean they will be dissatisfied with your service and take their custom elsewhere.
Many of the barriers are caused by lack of knowledge and not through malice, but with advice, training and our Transcription Service, SAVI provides support to companies so they overcome this problem.

Fundraising is a vital part of any charity to enable it to supply services and achieve its aims. If the most of our services are to remain mainly free to those that need them, this is the only way we can afford to achieve this.
After reading about what our charity does for visually impaired people in About us, we are sure you will agree that we are providing essential services. If you would like to support us with our aims, there are many ways you can help us achieve this.
